Does anyone have pretty extensive knowledge of SMOG here in Clark county? Do you know if the smog checks for actually validates functionality of certain items like EVAP?

On any OBD2 vehicles they don't use the sniffer its all checked by the ECU. I kind of wish my XJ was a 95 so I could just do the sniffer but unfortunately its not.

Ordered motor and trans today!!!! Might have it by Friday!

Took some of the Jeep funds and FINALLY completed my AR. I got the complete lower just after Sandy Hook happened. It's been a running joke with my wife saying I have my half gun.
Mounted

Also ordered a Vortex Crossfire 2 1-4x scope. I like the fact that it's a red dot and small zoom all in one.

No, nobody will check functionality.
Your pcm is another story.
All a smog inspector can do is make sure all the required components (related to smog) are there and all the lines are hooked up

I guess my question was a little confusing.

Does the state smog check system actually validate the readiness monitors for O2 sensor, EVAP, etc tests are actually active and functioning?

With LS motors you can tune them out (essentially just turning them off) and report a non functioning monitor.

Also does it pull the VIN for the SMOG test off the ecu? Or is the vin accepted when it's scanned in the door

When you do a swap they go off of the what the engine being tested... more than one unset monitor will cause the smog to be rejected. So if you only have the one EVAP unset your ok

I've been a forum member for about a year. Slowly getting my rig ready to go wheeling. I still have a few things to do. Rebuilding the front ds cv joint this week and replacing the ds u-joint. Lived here in vegas for a little over 20 years. Usaf retired, currently working for the county. Off thurs-friday for now (have to bid for shifts in may-june). Need to get out and see some of this area off the pavement but nothing crazy. Not a crawler.

That's the Transfer Case oil pump. The line at the bottom. Is where the pickup connects to. It's busted. The transfer case has a lot of sludge in it and I can tell that oil hasn't been moving as it should. Luckily the bearings are all still good. I ordered another one and ordered the o ring from Chapman
