Ill turn the heater on, and itll cool down after a minute or so, then i get another couple miles down the road and it quickly jumps again.
Ive got a failsafe 180 in it, new upper and lower hose, fresh rad fluid AND 3/4 of a bottle of Water Wetter. It even ran hot today and it was only 75 degrees outside. I checked the electric fan and it kicks on like its supposed to. idk... clog in the radiator somewhere I think. Funny thing is it never ran warm until I blew the head gasket. Its only been since I did the head work that it runs warm now.

maybe stupid of me to ask, is the rad cap old ? Mine overheated VERY FAST because the seal on the cap was cracked in three places. I didnt get to pump correctly I guess..

I have a pressure tester we can test the system and the cap if need be.
Are you losing coolant?
Have you checked the upper/lower hose temps when warm?

Huh, didnt even think of the stupid rad cap.

That rad setup is the sex. Ive actually touched myself a few times to that same picture lol But $400+ is outa the budget for a radiator at the moment.

I am on a penny budget too, figured I'd do high volume pump, thermostat and hoses first. Then when I rob that bank....err, uh....hit the lottery, I'll buy that radiator setup....then the tough part will be actually installing it rather than sleeping with it.

The cj is not street legal, is the plan to go into pahrump or is there spot we can turn around or take another trail back? Either way is fine, we would just turn around before pahrump.
