Steve- you can rent a press from any of the auto parts stores that "loan" tools
**** hopefully by next weekend it'll be in.
Lasvegastwo- if it's a 96 it's obd2 therefore they plug into the connector under the dash, should pass as long as no check engine light... if it's a 95 or earlier then it's a 2 speed tail pipe test which you can fail based off of tail pipe readings. You can get a smog test anywhere, Jared is correct, they all do the same thing. But if it fails and you need repairs lmk I work at a shop that is a certified smog repair center

Hey guys!
I just wanted to say hey... Been on the forums but just found this thread. I live down in mountains edge (blue diamond/Durango)
I've had my jeep about 8 months now. Been having an overheating problem this summer, turns out my aux fan is garbage and also pretty important...
What are your thoughts on mounting the fan and wiring it to a switch inside the cab. (With relay of course) Overheating has been occurring when at stop lights, idling with AC on. So far my remedy is to turn off the AC at every light (works perfectly!). Im not 100% sure if the culprit was the fan or the plug (PO spliced a new fan into the old harness).
Saw a post from a few days back about the 10" fan on amazon, has that been working well for you?

2WD Cherokee Converation
Hey does anyone know how hard it is to convert a 2WD XJ to 4WD? Mainly are the suspension attachment point the same? Long story short I wrecked my Jeep last week and I just bought it back from the Insurance company. I have been search Craigslist for a donor 4WD XJ to swap all my hardwork/parts on to. Unfortunately it seems that the only ones in my price range are 2WD XJ's. FYI, if you know anyone with a 1997 and newer XJ in the $3000 & below range please PM me or call (360)931-4595.

Doesn't look like too bad of a jeep.
From the looking around I've done it seems everything is the same so if you can get it cheap enough it would probably be worth it to get a 2wd. I would make sure it has the same trans to keep things even more simple.

Yeah but the guy will respond to my emails. As for the 2WD conversion, mine is a 5 speed so finding one with the same transmission will tough.

Mission California
Thanks, for all the feedback. I found a nice stock 1998 XJ in California and I am heading that way tomorrow morning. If it is as described, then she will be mine! I will upload pics later tomorrow if I buy it.

Craigslist!!!!
Did I tell you guys how much I hate Craigslist!! I have a trailer reserved for tomorrow morning and cash in hand to meet this guy. Nevertheless, he sell his Jeep not but 30 min ago. I understand not waiting but holly hell we made plans to meet tomorrow morning (I was willing to drive 3 hours). I appreciate the heads up but, I stop looking a two days ago because I was going to buy his Jeep, A**hole. Sorry to sound so winy but I lose my rental on Tuesday and I may be force to buy something other than a Jeep!!! Lastly *****, if you post a vehicle on Craigslist your should respond to emails, texts, calls or smoke signals. Or you could simply delete the dam post!!!
