Anybody have a good shop they can recommend in Northwest Vegas? I am planning on having a engine put in my 98xj. Cracked piston parked it a year ago. I came up on some money and looking to dial my jeep to be my daily driver again. Have a laundry list of interior/exterior projects and hoping to do it in one stop. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but saw it was active with local xj'ers that might be in the know.

Finally done with my steering upgrade, needs a quick toe adjustment but otherwise it doesn't have any death wobble so far.

Even though it doesn't look it the pitman arm bolt has full thread engagement to the nyloc.

Looks nice! What setup did you go with?

I went with the IRO setup. I got DW extremely bad though so I took it off until I can change some parts and bushings.

Be careful out there guys. I actually gave myself heat rash today. I've never gotten it before and I've worked outside and in the garage for years.

Does anyone have a handheld balljoint press? Where's a good place to buy one that will work with our XJ's?

And I'm really contemplating if I want to do this or just pay someone to do it hahaha

That steering setup looks nice. When is it going to be installed?

Steve- you can rent a press from any of the auto parts stores that "loan" tools
**** hopefully by next weekend it'll be in.

Lasvegastwo- if it's a 96 it's obd2 therefore they plug into the connector under the dash, should pass as long as no check engine light... if it's a 95 or earlier then it's a 2 speed tail pipe test which you can fail based off of tail pipe readings. You can get a smog test anywhere, Jared is correct, they all do the same thing. But if it fails and you need repairs lmk I work at a shop that is a certified smog repair center
