Video of Saturdays trail run

The only XJ on this trail. The oldest vehicle in the group. The cheapest damage out of everyone. Rock rash on a JK is expensive!! A color matched plastic fender flare cost more money than this

I need a front drive shaft if anyone has one for sale. Damaged an ear at the yoke end of mine. My spare drive shaft is missing, I have no idea where it is. I have a spare yoke, drilled for a u-bolt instead of the OEM strap. If anyone is able to snag one from the JY or possibly have one on hand, please let me know.

But Vegas is so far away!

Picked up another one from a local shop. One of these days it will be fixed.

Still waiting on final word but if the jeep is totaled and I buy it back... Two concerns:

Good frame rail stiffeners for the rear?

Driver seat and possibly brackets. What is recommended?

Wanted to see how everything flexed rear is pretty good. Front flexes awesome with the long arms. Shocks are now my limiting factor.

Finally started on my panhard bar, was going to put it off but I need the space where the stock track bar mounts on the axle side for the steering stabilizer.

New axle side mount is going somewhere around here.

Baseplate for the new frame side mount is using two of the original bolts and will be welded on. I'm going to drill some more holes in the plate with my new rotabroach annular cutters for some plug welds. The plate fits tight even if the photos don't look it.

Then the frame side bracket will get welded to that somewhere around here.

I posted this in my build thread, but I seem to be getting less traffic on it, so I thought I'd post it here.

I tried dropping the oil pan yesterday to do the rear main seal, oil pump, and pan gasket. The bolts are off and the pan is free, but I can't finagle it around all of the other components. The Haynes manual procedure requires disconnecting the steering stabilizer, removing the starter, removing the lower shock bolts, and using jack stands with the floor jack under the axle to lower it. On a lifted vehicle with big tires, this requires taking the wheels off completely.

Well I did all of that work and lowered the axle as low as it would go, and I still couldn't get the pan off. There is a bolt on the transmission that seems to get in the way of the rear of the pan, and the axle and track bar keep me from lowering the pan any further. I really don't want to take apart all of the steering components just to drop the oil pan. That seems pretty ridiculous, and I'm sure this maintenance doesn't require that. So WTF.

How have you guys done this?

I lifted my jeep up enough to max out the droop of the stock control arms and my pan came right out. I didn't have to take the wheels off, we used a high lift on the bumper.

Can the axle side mount be at an angle like that? The range of motion would not be matching up with the actual movement of the axle. Wouldnt that cause a bunch of binding?

The ruffstuff DIY bar uses rod end joints with high-misalignment spacers which allow much better movement. I will be using whichever holes get me the best geometry and cutting the remaining holes off for even more clearance.
