yeaaaah, this isn't right. there's no where the hanger on mine could bolt to, photo in a min.

found out last night when i got the title that mine came from Georgia, as i'm poking around underneath it there's a little bit of surface rust on some parts. No rot, which is good.

Bingo. Bring that rusty flat piece attach to pipe up to the two studs with nuts. Loosen and remove nuts. Slide metal over studs and screw nuts back on

those studs are for the hitch, and i think they're too large of a diameter to fit through the flat piece, drill it out?

edit: doesn't even look like it'll line up that way, unless the hanger is on backwards?

of course the exhaust that's on there is welded in all the connections, so i can't easily replace anything with clamps. i'd need to cut off the muffler and start over.

Put a spare optima red top in the xj, and turned in the old battery to autozone. While I was there I just used the $5 battery credit to pick up a universal hanger kit. I'll just dremel off the rusted hanger and use this one for the time being. It should let me bolt up to the hitch bolts. What are those torqued to usually?
