Looking for wheeling spots in the Vegas area. Post whatever info you got and I'll keep building the list.

1. Badlands - About ten minutes north of the Mt. Charleston exit on 95 Its something like eleven miles and then you pull off to the right side and follow the gravel to dirt mounds and then beyond that is what I like the call "the badlands" there is trails that go all the way to the sheep range mountains. There is actually a little teeny town called Cold Creek about 2 min south of where the pull off is.

2. "The Racktrack" is at 215 & West Ann Road and its literally behind lone mountain itself. Go west of the interstection and then make a right on Lansford Rd. Then a quarter mile or so ahead take a left on an unnamed street. Then a quarter mile or so down on the left will be a dirt path leading off around a man made wash. behind that towards the mountain is the "play area" The area itself looks to be an old wrecking yard. Buildings gone though. There is a little quarry and farther behind the mountain, and about a mile back total is a "race track" that looks like it would be a blast for prerunner trux. Very fun. My friend said that BLM watches this area closely, but I have yet to see a single person out there.

3. "The Caves" - Off fort apache and and warm springs behind rhodes ranch. a football field south of that intersection is a pull off to the right where you go up the hill to the caves visible from fort apache. The trails from the caves front portion leads around back to another set of caves in the same "hill."

I personally have not explored beyond a mile of the cave area, but I've been told it goes for at least ten miles and there is a "cliff/ ravine" area around there.

4. "The south spot" - Roughly Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo. At this intersection head south on Buffalo until the road ends at a dirt "ditch." Go straight up the place where its obvious that other vehicles have ventured by tire tracks and follow the trail through the storm drain. this trail goes all the way up to the mountains. Fairly quick because its well traveled dirt road from BLM and minery trucks. Look out for boulders. We almost flipped a brand new titan the last time we went out. Keep it under 65 mph

5. Apex (aka Nellis Dunes)
I-15 North exit Apex turn right

6. Amargosa Valley (aka Big Dune)
US 95 N to Amargosa Valley, exit left at Valley View Rd. (Small dirt road) follow arrows painted on roadway.

7. Dry lake bed - 4 Miles south of Railroad Pass Casino on Interstate 95 towards Searchlight/Needles. Nasty, nasty mud pits when it actually rains out there. There are hills and things to traverse, but mostly a spot to go relax and get DIRTY!!!!!

8. "The pipeline" - about a 3/4 mile south of the intersection of S. Town Center and W Tropicana you pull up off the street onto the sidewalk and follow the fence up about a mile up to the top of a man-made wash. go down the slope and follow the "horse trail along the gas pipeline FOR MILES. very cool area. Stock vehicle accessible as well as washes with obstacles for the more modified crowd.

9. Angel Peak Loop: Elevation 2450 to 8200ft.The easiest way to start this trail is head up Kyle Canyon Rd (NV 157) approximately 10 miles from US 95 there will be guard rails on both sides of NV 157 and a small pull off to the north and the start of a trail just west of this guard rail. If you hit Harris Spring Rd you have gone too far. The pull off is 2.7 miles from Harris Spring Road. That is the beginning of the trail. From here it is best to go with someone that has done this trail before as there are lots of side paths that can be explored, but mostly the trail is pretty straightforward. It will loop around and end back on NV 157 close to the Mt Charelston lodge.

10. Bitter Springs: Elevation 2000 to 3600ft. Start at the Moapa Fireworks store at I-15 and State Route 169,take State Route 169 to the south east ,the first left turn is to The Valley of Fire, otherwise continue on straight. There is fuel and food and help if needed after you exit the trail.Where State Route 169 T's off on Northshore Rd by Lake Mead, you turn left and go for roughly 2 miles, and there is a road to Echo Bay on the right hand side of the road.Follow it it all the way down and you will see food and fuel to your right. If you dont go down to the Marina, the main road leads to Logandale maybe 25-30 min drive further. If you turn right and head back SW it takes you back to Las Vegas by way of one of the Lake Mead entrances.Any 2wd or 4 wd SUV can pass the road all the way through, but do be careful of sand in the washes that can get you stuck, and washed out parts of the road. The road is also very rocky,so SUV's with street tires may not want to go,if you do,be vary careful of the sharp rocks and the puncture hazards. It is very remote, and very beautiful to drive.

11. Wheeler's Pass: Elevation 3100 to 7600ft. Head north on US 95 from Las Vegas about 40 miles. Miles before you get to Indian Springs you will see a prison on the west side of the highway. Turn onto the road in front of the prison. Head west into the mountains about 10 miles and once you pass the dumpsters on the left you will see a sign for Wheeler's Pass and the trail on your right hand side about 1/2 a mile past the dumpsters. The rest of the trail is marked and pretty easy to follow.

Might get convoluted, lots of these places will probably have mixed terrain too.
Willing to try if you are though.

yes all have plenty of mixed terrain besides the dry lake bed.

the badlands has rocks and packed dirt hills that people put targets up next to and shoot...., sandpits of doom, dirt dirt and more dirt hills mounds trails, mud at times, hills, things to "jump" if you get the inclination.

I left out some pretty extreme hill climbs and lots of terrain to flex on. Lots of fairly untouched soft loose dirt to test out the 4lo. Nice relaxing trails mixed with some "PLOW YOUR OWN WAY OUT BECAUSE I CANT FIND A GOOD ROUTE WITHOUT BREAKING SOMETHING" kinda terrain

Other than quads and dragging my trailer to drop them of I really haven't wheeled here in Vegas. Guess we'll just have to hit up all these spots and write up trail reports.
