Hungry Valley
I want to take my basically stock 98 Laredo up to Hungry Valley to test it out before I do a bunch of upgrades. (this summer: lift and bumpers)
I'm new to the off road game and am interested in making some friends who are willing to teach me the ways.
Next Saturday 2/25 anyone?

about a year ago i was in the same boat so i found a local 4x4 club and joined them. as most off roaders are, they turned out to be pretty cool people and were more than willing to help out a newbe. if you can find a local club that would be your best bet to learn and also make some good friends.

Camaraderie is great in clubs, but many club runs are 20+ rigs. Maybe good for a once in a while trip but that gets old fast. My opinion only......

I have not experienced that yet so I guess I have been lucky. most runs I have been on had only 5 or 8 rigs.
20 rigs would be too many especially considering skill level, build, etc.

I'm in Orange County- Jeeping has grown tremendously in So Cal. I've tried to hook up on a few runs with a few different clubs but it seems every run has waay too many RSVP's so I've been running solo. For example, I'd love to run Calico this weekend with Lost Jeeps but 22 rsvp's later and i'm no longer interested.

wow, that must be a huge club. the club I am with is smaller. I don't know the exact number of members but when I attend the monthly meetings we typically have around 10 people show.
