Kager---I quoted you cuz I don't know any better. I've never seen any steam turbines, I told you it's BIG. If you just go to the main Ukiah exit off Hwy.101 and go to the right, which is east, you won't be able to miss the signs to Cow Mt. Also, pick up a map at the staging area at the entrance. The whole park is unattended by rangers (at least i've never seen any) and there are no fees of any kind. Remember, this means you are TOTALLY on your own in a vast wilderness. I've gotten stuck there alone and take my word for it, it's a LONG walk out! Peace.

99xj48167 I hope you know how lucky you are to have work at Tesla. Very hot company. Electric sportscar that's a hotrod and now a sedan 100% electric!!! Me thinks a 100% electric hotrod XJ ??? Good luck w/ the new job. And yes, you'll have wheelers NSEW. PS...Cali sounds like a dog breed. It's good to go w/ Ca.--Cal.--Calif.--California (as a 65 yr. native of Caliii...fornia, I may be overly sensitive. Pls forgive).

Sharp Ride 99xj48167 !!! I really like the last pic...snow on TOP of the tires. I hope I'm not the first to let you know...they make us cover our tires to be legal on Calif. streets. Will you drive your xj here or tow it? And will it be your DR? Looks too good not to be. Forget the last question.

I know it's pretty far in advance, but I'm planning to go to the 4 wheel parts customer appreciation run I'm July. My goal is to have my jeep much more offroad friendly by then. I think we should get a big group of Cherokees to go that day.

Joe'sXJ, you r 3" higher than I am. However, I'm always amazed what a stock XJ w/good claws can do. Sunday at Hollister Hills, 1/4 mile was how far I got before I was sitting on my gas tank and rear diff. in a deep rut looking at blue sky. Found an XJ to pull me out so it wasn't too embarrassing. That was the only time I got stuck all day!!! And I also got to pull a big, huge, V8 powered, 8" lift, 32" wheels, full sized pick-up out of a spot against a tree and in a rut, side-ways on a trail.... pay-back time! Ah heck, my point is that you can do just fine IF you're a good driver and use your skill and not just big tires. (I mean no offense big tire guys).

Its a nice event. They set up checkpoints along trails that pretty much anyone can go on, and you pick up raffle tickets at each checkpoint. When your done, you can go off and play. Theres usually people playing on the obstacle courses and other fun stuff. They have a free BBQ(not the greatest, but still good) and give away a ton of free stuff at the end in the raffle. Last year they gave away a ton of smittybuilt folding entrenching tools, towstraps, D-ring shackles, and then a few big ticket items like a winch, bumper, air compressor, and a few other really cool things. And, a lot of the shops bring out their custom buggys and stuff to show off, so its fun to watch them do their crawlin.
You have to register at least a day before the event by purchasing a ticket in any 4WP store.
