Question. Is it a fix it ticket? Where if they ticket you can go to court with pictures and what not showing you are no longer in violation and they get rid of the fine?
Also Kenmore, fuuuuuuuu. I drive through there at least 3 times a week on my way to work.

Worst day ever over something so stupid? Dude you are in for a rude awakening of what life is going to throw at ya along the way.
Put the right rims on and tuck the tires under the jeep or put the proper flares on it along with mud flaps. Now you'll be legal (as far as those things go anywY) and be on your merry way.

While I have been pulled over, I am still guilty of not finishing this project.
Picked up a standard NAPA truck mudflap that seemed appropriate.
Also picked up Rocky Road Outfitters mudflap mounts. They can be removed easily for offroad purposes.
Good to know the WSP is on the patrol, since I am stuck driving the Jeep for a couple weeks.

Just make it a federal law already. Blows my mind how no flaps/flares is a huge safety issue in some states and completely ignored in others. Makes absolutely no sense. Funny thing is, most of the dings and cracks I've acquired in my years of driving have come from cars. Only once was it from a truck/Jeep, and that was from my friend towing me down a gravelly road.

Used to live in WA and I also got pulled over for mud flaps. I was in a 1973 Chevy 1500. WSP explained it to me that you need mud flaps that come to the center of the axle and cover the width of the tire. If either are visible to a LEO from the rear, you can get a citation. As for a trooper being bored or anything else, I have it heard it said that there isn't a vehicle on the road that a dedicated patrol officer can't find a legitimate reason to pull over at any time. When they do, they are actually looking to see if you may be the one who is doing something worse for which the traffic stop leads to the arrest. Remember the Oklahoma City bomber was caught during a traffic stop.

WA lift laws
Google Washington lift laws and you should be able to find laws related to running bigger tires. I was pulled over twice within a couple weeks two years ago. Mud flags is the big easy one they look for, that was why I was pulled over the first time. But that time he let me go with a warning. My problems were no mud flaps I had taken them off and was being lax. I could just unpin them, another problem was the tires stuck out beyond fenders about 3 inches. The next time I was pulled over was speed related, it was same cop so he was giving me crap, I had mud flaps but no new fender flares. Well I changed my wheels, not as much backspacing. I pointed that out to him, and then he brought up bumper height. Uhhh! I haven't drove it for a bit, but now I am starting to again and as far as I know I just have to extend my bumper down so it sets 22" from the ground for SUV height. I know I see a lot of rigs around Walla Walla that don't meet many of these requirements. Maybe it's just the red paint?
