Default what should i do

Ok so what should I do or what would you do?

Ok so my jeep is having issues running.

My fuel pressure is 11psi to low. I am pretty sure its my fuel pump.
I denteds my tank and I am sure it messed up the pump.

I also had to replace my CPS.

So for a new tank and pump I will spend about 360 in parts.

If I replace the injectors I am in for another 360.

So total in parts to fix whole fuel system about 720.

I don't have 720 rolling around, nor do I have the time to fix this at least till december, since I am going on a short 2 month deployment in october.

So here is what is running through my mind.

Part out jeep.
Sliders
Lift
Wheels and tires
Partially finished front bumper
Then all stock stuff.

Or sell jeep as is

Or wait till about jan time frame and start the process to fix everything, sinking more money in hopes to get the xj going. Then I will have a good running xj for a while.

Or fix the jeep, then sell it.

I never honestly though that an xj would be my offroading rig. I am more into wranglers and at one point in time I plan to have a wrangler again.

i really dont want to get rid of the xj unless i knew that within a month or so i could afford a wrangler.

so i am not sure what to do.

Did you look into the possibility of picking up the parts to fix it from the JY?

Default I feel your pain

I know how you feel. need to change out the brakes all around. including calipers and front and rear right axle seals just dumped did a tune up and got the diagnostics for the emissions from a shop. And i'm in the navy. I'm leaving for two months coming back and gone two months to the other side of the country. but i'm just doing as much as I can with the time and money i do have. I let my first XJ go. BIG Mistake. I really regretted but i plan on getting on getting another car once i'm done paying off my wifes. So the xj will not be my daily driver. If you rather go with the wrangler I would try parting it out. or selling it whole depending how much your looking for it. There are alot of cheap XJs out there. i know I paid 800 for mine. Including the lift tires and rims. I think you might have better luck parting it out. and if you do let me know. I'd like the sliders and the grill. thanks

You already have a ton of cash and time put into your current rig. It really wouldn't make much since to start over with another used rig that the PO most likely beat the crap out of. Fix what is wrong with yours. You learn your rig as you fix it and build it. That way when out on the trail in the middel of BFE, you can fix it yourself. That is the HUGE advantage of built over bought. You can fix it, Leo. We will help you.The problem right now as your rig sits is a dented gastank and a bad fuel pump. I would drop the tank, remove the old fuel pump, knock the dent out of the tank and install a new fuel pump. That is all you REALLY need to do. So, the only money spent should be on a new fuel pump and fuel filter. You should always replace the filter when replacing the fuel pump. A filter for your rig is only like 6 bucks at Autozone.

Never thought of just poping out the dent.

Unplug the vacuum line from the press regulator on the rail and close it, this should give you a little more fuel pressure for the moment.

If you had more time i would give you some more hints/upgrades for the entire fuel system, i recently replaced and upgraded everything for less than 250.
