No actually it's not illegal at all. I live 5 minutes from this place. They are putting in trail signs and have been building wheeling trails for the past year or so. So just so everyone knows, it's NOT illegal. 👍🏼 and it is a very beautiful place too!

They were doing road service work, logging, and putting in a new staging area at the head of one of the new wheeling trails that's pretty damn gnarly.

It's like 3 to 5 miles outside of estacada. I know exactly where's it's at cause I live like 5 minutes away so I haven't really clocked it on the mile meter. But they changed the name to clackamas river rv. Search clackamas river rv in estacada and see if it comes up. It's on the left hand side of the road if your going away from estacada. There will be 2 entrances once you turn into the driveway. One on the left and on the right. Right takes you to the rv park. Left takes you up a paved road for about 3.5 miles then turns to gravel. Follow that gravel road and go explore the woods. Wheeling trails. Gravel pits. Awesome views. It's all there!

Let me know a weekend when you're free so we can all meet up and go have some fun! That would be a good time!

Squaw mountain wheeling fact check
You know, the best way to find out if it's legal or not is to check with the National Forest/Ranger District there. They should have MVUM maps that are free and can tell you what type of vehicle is allowed where (and not allowed). Sure beats being somewhere you shouldn't and getting a fine.
