southwest washington new trails
Years back there was a 4x4 group working on some trails. I know there was some legal issues and such. There was a big plan spanning ten years and at the end of it all a camp ground will be going in. I believe the trail system is called yacolt burn trails. Well I heard a rumor that they will be opening up may 2nd 2015. They are finishing the trails soon from what I heard. Can anyone confirm what I heard is true or as heard the same thing? It would be nice to have something closer to go wheel.

here is what i found with a little research.
with everything done there will be 30.5 miles of 4x4 trail. and 10 mile of that will be done in phase 1 the article i found was back in june this year so its very possible when the orv area opens up after the seasonal closure (nov 30-may1) there could be was new trail to explore.

Over the weekend a buddy and I took a trip to the area to check out the trails. I found a count of four just going over the pass in the area. They have them all blocked off while they are still working/building them. We walked down one it seemed ok nothing to hard from what I seen up that will change once some rigs get driving on them. They are in a loop set up so they are one way and seemed like you can go from trail to trail with little drive time between them. He told me that phase 1 they made it some you can be out for two hours and not have to hit the same trail twice.
