Default New to Oregon...looking for a good Jeep shop

Hey what's up guys...I'm actually a long time CF member...just started a new account. Anyway after being XJless for the last year and a half since moving across the country I picked up a 97 2 door and I have a laundry list of things I'm gonna do to it but I'm looking for a good shop to do the major work in or around the Portland area...I'm just west of the city in Hillsboro.

Thanks and I'm sure I'll see some of you at Browns Camp once she's done

Depends on what your doing. Most people in the Portland area I don't trust....

'The Offroad shop' in Portland is awesome, guys been around for quite a while and actually worked for several other shops before opening his own... (503) 702-4996 he can do anything ya need. I can't remember his first name, I just bought a set of tires from him Friday too....

Woodys 4x4 in Vancouver is good too, a bit spendy but they do nice work.

Nothing too major....axles, lift, bumpers...some mild fabrication. Clayton 3 link..g2 D44/D60 any fab that goes along with getting those installed.

Might be a little off route, but holbrook in gladstone is a good place. Specialize in jeeps, little spendy, but worth it.

What makes you want a g2 Dana 44? There are much better options than the g2 (low pinion) d44 front!

Looking for a good bolt in option for axles....by the time I re-gear and rebuild the ones under it I'm damn near the cost of a brand new set ready to bolt in. I have more money than time so.....

I would honestly prefer to find a set someone is selling that's at least close to what I want. The thought of dropping 6 grand on a set of axles isn't a pleasant one I don't care how much $ someone has

I know what you mean. I've tried to do the same thing a couple times but I'm too impatient!!

If your patient just scan Craig's and see what comes up. If I spot anything I'll post here (if your still looking)

Reason I asked about the G2 is because I considered the g2 Dana 44 front, but for just a little more you could get a currie hp housing. I'm piecing one together now- currie rock jock 44 housing, Xj width, Dana 30 outers (I'll be running wj outers for the brakes/steering)
Jk 44 gears, arb, and tj/lj rubicon 44 RCV's

That way I won't have to change wheels, steering, nothing. Just remove the 30, and drop in the 44 when its done, and it will be plenty strong enough for 36's

You could try Accesory outfitters in Beaverton behind "every donut day" or something. They are good guys and all the work I see come out of there seems quality. I haven't had them do any work due to being able to repair everything myself, so no actual testimony here. But close to Hillsboro, I think there is a 4x4 shop in Cornelius too, can't remember the name atm.
