Default need some help to get this right?!?!?!

If anybody could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. I have a 1997 Cherokee Sport just put a new motor in it, 135 miles into my xj's new life I blew a front right tire and almost totalled my whole rig. Luckily I got away without a scratch. I desperatly need new tires but would like to lift it first. Can anybody point me in the right direction I don't want to go to high. Please post any suggestions looking to make a daily driver/weekend warrior as cheap as possible.

Thanks

Normally a 3 to 3 1/2 lift is about the right balance for a DD/wheeling setup. 3in. AAL kits start at about just under $300 shipped and go up from there. Zone Offroad, Rusty's, and Rough Country are pretty popular choices. Hope this helps.

What's your budget?

3"-4.5" is a typical DD height, I'm at ~5" for DD...but have a lot of money into the rig to make that do-able.

Best advice I can give you, stay away from Rusty's. A good brand that holds its reputation well is Rubicon Express, but they're a little more expensive then some of the "other" brands. Rough Country is a good affordable way to go, they back up their products and will warranty anything they did wrong (great customer service). Whatever lift you do, do full leafs (not AAL) as AALs tend to sag and/or be stiff.

If you want a really nice ride (the Jeep will not be as smooth as stock once lifted until you do this), invest into either long arms or drop brackets. Long arms will set you back upwards of $700, drop brackets upwards of $200ish.

X2 on drop brackets... I have 4.5 Rubicon superflex not sure why they do not come with lift, but I would get them.
