1998 Cherokee

Default June 16th Evans Creek trip

So this last tuesday i headed up to Evans with another cherokee and a jeep rubicon. i have a front locker, the other cherokee had a front locker, and the rubicon had dual. there was absolutely no snow anywhere except for one spot..which i will later get to..

we started on the first trail (102) where Brian broke his winch cable. we headed up that and i got a dent in the drivers side rear quarter panel right by the tail light. that was the only damage on that trail. after the 102 we drove down the road a ways to the infamous 197. this is rated the hardest trail in Evans creek and i was itching to try it. the trail was very short and had two technical uphill rock sections. after a few different lines we all finally made it with no carnage. after that trail we were on a mission to find the rock slide somewhere in evans. we drove the 519, 520, 198, and 196 trails trying to find the rock slide but had no luck. we played around on some different stuff for a while then found the three step. the three step is three rock steps with a cliff on one side. the rubicon tried it and succeeded but i did not wanna try it at all because it was kind of sketchy.

all in all it was a great trip! i got one bigger dent and a few smaller ones on the rocker panels. on my way home i started feeling a vibration in the front end. when i got home i took the front tires off and found out that i blew the drivers side hub.

I need to get some bigger tires. So your buddy got some new tires and a front locker, and some recovery points. Must have been nice for him to make it everywhere on his own.

ya it took him a little while longer than me and the rubicon but he made it everywhere we did. i was the only one who had to be pulled lol we found a tiny patch of snow way up high and i thought i would be cool and go through it in two wheel drive. i didnt know how deep it was and i got stuck lol the green jeep had to pull me out
