Default ZJ Fuel Tank Skid on XJ?

I did a forum search and even though a lot of stuff came up, I was not able to determine a definite answer on this. Will an OEM gas tank skid from a '98 ZJ fit a '99 XJ? Will it bolt right in, or close to it? Am I barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks in advance to everyone.

Only works on the '97 or newer XJ's.. the tanks are different before that.

I know cause I had did a try fit of my old ZJ skid on my '89 Xj.. No go...

nick_n_ii -

So if I am reading correctly, a tank skid from a 98 ZJ would work on a 99 XJ. Your previous post mentions something may need to be trimmed, but overall it would clear and bolt up over the stock 99 XJ tank?

Yes it works. Not on the 87 tho. for the 87, just go to the JY and get a skid from another 87 with a steel skid. done deal

Good to get some more confirmation before dropping any cash on something that might not work, thanks, Reno. I read on one of your threads you scored a gas tank skid at the JY. What year did you pull that off of?
