hey yall. i have a 93 xj 2 door with some broken leaf springs on it. and just wanted to ask some questions before i went buying stuff. i was planning on going to a junk yard to buy some used one just to get bye. i was wonderin will leaf springs from a 4 door fit on my 2 door or are they different? also i have 3inch aluminum blocks for my rear lift. is there leaf springs i could use from another ride? what are my options?

I believe there is a write up somewhere here on the forum on how to build a "bastard" pack from S-10 pickup leafs which will get you around 3" of lift on an XJ.

That is just what I've seen the guys on the forum refer to it as. Basically you take a set of S-10 pickup leafs and the original leafs from your XJ and mix and match leafs until you get the desired lift. I know there are write ups on this though. So, you shouldn't have to re-invent the wheel. If you can't find it with the search function here on the forum just google XH S-10 bastard pack. You will find plenty of write ups on how to do it.

you wanna be a little cautious when doing an aal type set up... Your best bet is to get the leafs right off another xj... You can use s10 leafs, but they, Lowe an aal will mess with ride quality. Idk just how much you care, but the rear gets considerably more stiff. If you go new, consider the cost of the repair vs. The cost putting a lift in it... Also, you mentioned you have blocks in the rear... They can cause torsional flex that results in your leafs looking more like fireworks.. Basically they will just blow apart if they get too much stress on them. A way around this is with a combo of drop shackles and a smaller lift block. I'd limit myself to a one inch block and like a two inch drop shackle... Just throwin my .02 in there...

yes, all year xj leafs fit all year xj's regardless of door model

i have a 87 Jeep, I just picked up 2 complete leaf sets(4 packs total) from a 94 2dr and 98 4dr
they were a CL find, paid $90 for both sets (2 different sellers) and someone else had pulled them already for me

Though I dont know why i got them both I am only wanted 1/2" lift on each side. Now I got to figure out which leaf gives me that.

is this a definite? I know ive heard someone say different, not that I believe them cause I was under the impression that all years, all models would work as well... I know how dangerous it is to simply regurgitate info without knowing if it is fact :-)

very correct you are.
well, now that i think about it, i cant verify wether the grand wagoneer (6 or 8 cylinders) leafs will work or not. as you may have heard, i also think I remember hearing they will work, though I would be curious to find out for sure, as they came with an extra leaf and are probably good for a extra inch or more...

as for the others, i have them both and when they are layed out next to each other, they are the same length & width and bolt holes are the same size as well.
so unless someone changed something out before i got to them, im going to say yes.
Personally, i think i can see the difference of arch on the 2 sets i have, guess i know which i will be using as my main replacement..

With the lift I have on mine now, I think the PO said he swapped the Blazer main spring with the XJ's. I'm fuzzy on the details but I think that's what he said he did. It was like a 3 1/2 inch lift that sagged in the rear so I added a 1 inch shackle to it to level it out.

Dude, there's no difference in the frames of the two door and four door models. Same wheelbase, too. People think the two door is shorter wheelbase, but that's an optical illusion lol. It does weigh less, because there's two less doors, but the front doors are longer.

my buddy totalled his 99 or 00 silverado xt cab 4x4, will his rear leafs fit on my 99 xj?? i want a very cheap lift maybe 2-4 inches, please help

Negative, Silverado is the fullsize pickup (C/K 1500). The S10 was either rebranded or replaced by the Colorado
