Default lift companies backspacing requirments?

Anyone know why the lift companies put a maximum on the amount of backspacing you should have? ( I understand the lower the bs the more it sticks out)

Say I want to order a steel wheel 15x8 with a 3inch backspacing
plan on putting on 31x10.5.

what problems could I encounter, I see no rubbing on the lcas, only rubbing on the fender and thats just trimming.

yes it will stick out quite a bit, I like that look.

will it damage/ wear and tear any suspension components or ball joints, hubs any quicker than a 4 inch backspace.

thanks, sorry so long.

Well, when a vehicle is lifted what happens is the center of gravity gets lifted too. To compensate that a wider stance on the vehicle is needed. Wider stance can be achieved with less backspace on the wheel and wider tires but u can only go so much on how it will stick out before u need wider flares to give coverage on the tires. Some state laws require coverage on tires for road driven vehicles so i guess thats one thing companies don't want to be involved with..breaking the law.

So..companies set out standards to cover themselves. Now..it will be up to u if u want to go wider or bigger but now the company isnt liable. Going beyond their specs means the owner knows thats its up to them to modify their vehicles not the lift kit company. Thats it in a nutshell.

3" BS will be thel because it pushes the tire away from components, if you went with say 4.5" you may rub when turning. If you didnt follow there recommendations it may void the warranty. So yiu want more (Smaller Num.) backspacing.

what were you trying to say here.

from what I know there is no law here in florida with how far out the tires stick, to an extent of course.

With every lift kit the manufacturer will state the max tire size and backspacing u can use so that it wont damage any other component of ur car...warranty. u can stick out as much tire out of spec as u want just know that it will not be the manufacturers' fault for any damages and if u have vehicle warranty know that its voided.
