Default Window-lock out bypass (solves the issues of window switches not working)

I had the same power window problem on my 2000 XJ. Power window switches worked from driver seat but not from any of the passenger seats. I had a bad window lock switch. I bypassed the switch by shorting two adjacent yellow and tan leads on a connector located inside a driver side kick-panel with a paper clip. See two pictures below...

green arrow = the connector

yellow arrow = yellow lead
tan arrow = tan lead
red arrow = paper clip

Not shown in the pictures but I covered up the pin and connector with some electrical tape.

Now all window switches work fine, but of course the windows lock switch is inoperable. The switch is permanently closed (effectively with the paper clip) so all window switches work at all time. My kids are grown so no need for a lockout.

Not my write up but the question always comes up and should be stickyed and i feel this is the easiest fix

couldn't you just use a butt splice?

I know it's a heck of a lot more permanent than a paper clip, but you would never have to worry about it again...

Recently acquired 2000 XJ has this same issue. Glad someone dug it up. Now I can fix mine this weekend before I head out of the country!

The connector for the other windows is under the carpet and it sometimes gets corroded. Cleaning it can usually remedy the problem and keep the window lock-out switch functional.

there is another link to a fix that involves using quick connects, and a piece of wire to to do the same thing as the paper clip, and if youre gonna do it, thats the way i would go...paper clip is a good test to see if it is the problem though

Default more help needed!

I pulled the panel on the drivers side on my "93". I can't find a white connector or any with three wires that correspond to those above. What do I do now?
