Where can i buy a transmission pump for the AW4?
So I am thinking the pump on my 88 tranny may be toast.. I have been scouring the internet trying to find a replacement but so far I am striking out.. any ideas?

Check anywhere that carries Toyota parts as well - the AW4 was also known as the Toyota 30-40LE or A340H.
Why do you think you need a front pump? Not getting any pressure at the test port, or low pressure in all ranges? Front pumps are notoriously difficult to kill in a decent slushbox - I'd flogged the AW4 in my 87 terribly, and didn't lose the front pump.

Yeah that's very true! I know the pump is shot for sure now, I pulled it out and the gear is all broken in pieces. When I installed the tranny I forgot to spin the TC all the way into place and I think it bound up the pump and BLAMO! Broken pump.. third times the charm..

You may also want to call the guys at www.bulkpart.com - I've had good luck with them in the past with a number of other jobs.
