What's My XJ Worth?
I bought this thing back in 2006 as a daily driver. I had the intent of retiring it (one day) and turning into a off-road project, but it's always ran so great that I hated to tear into it. On top of that, I've always been occupied with other projects.
Anyways, it's a 92 2-door with 4.0L-HO and auto trans. It's got AC (that works great) tilt steering, and rear defrost. That's the only options. I believe it's an all original car, with no rust. It has 248,XXX miles. The paint is oxidized on the hood and roof, and it could use a windshield (easy fix - damn rock trucks!). The interior is in great shape considering it's age and it needs nothing (except windshield).
What's this thing worth? I'm now toying with the idea of selling it. KBB says it's worth slightly under $2k. I don't always trust that site though. I want to believe it's worth slightly more. You'd really have to see the Jeep in person to appreciate it. Plus you'd have to drive it. It drives great on the interstate. Lastly, I've aquired the need for a towing vehicle, and don't really want to start another project. I would love to lift this thing!!!
Anyways, here's a few pics. . .

I know a lot of people would like to think their XJ is worth more than it is, but 2k sounds kind of high to me as well. I'd expect around $1000-$1300 (that's what most are around here). It may run perfectly and be in great shape, but it's still 17 years old.

Yup, 17 years old with a decent amount of miles, cracked windshield, and faded paint. I would say between $1000 and $1500.

ya, trail rig. its a nice lookin xj, in good lookin shape for what it is. the problem is the market is flooded with xjs under 2 grand. if you replace the windshield it will definately sell better though. i'd list it at 1700-1800 and expect 1500. the mileage is a killer to a lot of people.

i got this for 500 bucks it had 240,xxx miles on it and paint is faded and there was a few small little things wrong with it like no power to the radio or lights for the dash. hood wouldnt stay closed on one side turn signals didnt work and other things however no dents or rips in the interior.. it is a 88 too so its in good shape for its year i think.. very little rust but where the rust was it wasnt rusted through it was surface rust...but drove it about 60 some miles to get it home and it made it but its my project jeep and i got nothin but time to do all the little and big things i have planned for it .. anyway id say you could get 1200 to 1300 out of it

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the input, that's what I was looking for. I thought it may be worth "more" with this niche of people. I agree the miles are high. They're all highway miles though. I also thought I was lucky that mine didn't have some of the quirky problems I've read about on here.
I may just keep it, or trade it in on a tow-rig. I'm sure a dealer could "show" me $1,500 as a trade-in value.

if you know you're area, it doesn't hurt to put 2200 on it, and take your time. unless you're in a hurry. i sold my 90 xj a few years ago, no calls for a couple weeks, and then a neighbor walked over from a block away and gave me what i was asking. that was 1500 on a rusty hi mileage 90. but it was in good mechanical shape.
there's a buyer for everything.

i like the XJ, 2 doors always get my randy. The body looks straight[no rusting on the rockers or on the bottom of the doors, paint is eh,...]
if it runs and drives good, I'd pay about a 1,000-ish for that all day long. A windwhield is only 170 installed[thats what i paid for new windshield in my 97]
I paid $1800 for my 97 4door, base model, 150K, stock, unmolested,...
