Mine runs at 210 or a little higher my clutch fan kicks on for like 5 seconds then shuts off for like 10 seconds then back on for five it does this over and over I feel something is wrong and it should not be doing this

Your mechanical fan or your electric fan? The efan turns on/off with the a/c compressor. In general, the factory gauge needle points at the middle +/-.

Generally just below 210.... which with the 100*+ temps here and no electrical fan on my XJ I am pretty surprised. Gets above 210* pretty quickly though if I don't keep it moving.

Mine usually runs 180-200°, but I've got a 180° thermostat. Don't run it above 230°, good way to blow a head gasket.

My 88 XJ runs about 150 on freeway or long highways. In stop and go traffic on a hot summer day it climbs to about 190-200 but as soon as I start driving it creeps back down to about 150. I wired my AC fan to a switch so its always on when i want it to be this helped me a lot.

The clutch fan is bolted to the shaft on the water pump, so if the pump is turnin' the fan is too! If your mechanical fan is cycling on and off, its time to look at the serpentine belt and water pump.

After i replaced the radiator it runs below 210 moving, on a hot day sitting in traffic at 210. And sitting for a very long period of time on a hot day a little above 210
