M reading 40 at idle and 60 when going down the road, how bout yall

Not less than 13 psi at idle when warm, between 37-75 psi over 1600 rpms

mine with 20 years and 180k is
30 at warm idle and 60 at 2000 rpms

Didn't put oil or filter type, mine is with what ever 10 30 is on sale and whatever non Fram filter is on sale.

I use napa 10w/30 and napa gold filter,get 60 psi cold at highway speeds,45 psi warm at highway speeds,around 25 to 40 at idle depending if its warmed up or cold

Thanks, just making sure I was not crazy. My wrangler oil pressure gauge did not work and other than that I have only had fords, they run low pressure all the time.

60 to 70 when cold, once it warms up 40, all at idle. when driving 65 to 70 is normal. asked a chrysler tech about this once he said that it was normal.

Same, Same. Running Fram (with no problems) and Castrol 10W30. 234k miles and I do not know if the POs rebuilt it or not.

Mine is 60 at cold idle, about 20 at warm idle.
50-60 at cruise.
Castrol 10W30, Purolator Filter, Normally I run Fram tough guard though.

When I start my jeep cherokee starts up its at about 17 psi and idles around the same. While running it goes up to about 22-24 psi. It has not given me any problems. Is the psi ok or do I have a problem?

Mine usually shows around 50psi at start up and idle and runs 35 to 40 while driving.

Mine jumps all around, i've seen it around 20 and jump to around 50 but never higher than that. I'm running 5w30 and a Fram filter as well with zero issues.

Just curious--I see that everyone is running 10w30 on this post. Is there any specific advantages? my daddy always taught me to use 5w30 in most things

Depends on the weather and what you use your jeep for, 10-30 is a good all around oil for most highway city driving year round.

Common misconception is that the w stands for weight, it means winter, but really means the low temp viscosity, next number is the higher operating temp viscosity.

Never seen an issue with using 5-30 over 10-30 or vise versa. I feel like my engine is happier with the 10-30 though. Although I did just thoroughly clean my pan and pickup tube... who knows

My oil pressure is about 15-20 at start up and about 50-60 on the throttle, when it warms up it idles at around 40, still 50-60 on the throttle.

It's normal for it to rise and fall with engine RPM. If its jumping around at steady RPM, your sending unit is probably failing or you have a bad connection.
