Default What is this hose coming from the trans.

While trying to find the Trans breather hose (still dont see it) I ended up finding another hose that is seeping fluid, It is on the drivers side, on the side of the trans. next to the linkage. I cant really see where it goes, it just up.
Anyone know what it is?

Thanks.

Probably the Transfer Case Vent hose. Usually a 5/16" ID hose. The Transmission vent hose is 1/4" ID.

Forgot to mention I dont have a transfer case.
Could it be the Speedometer cable?

Thanks for the vent size for the trans. I was wondering what size it is so I can push on some tubing when i find it, because I dont think there is any on it.

LOL.... I don't mean to be mean but you can't tell the difference between a speedo cable and a hose....

Let's put our thinking caps on.

All I see is what looks like a rubber hose coming off the side of the transmission, I didnt grab it to feel if it is hollow or has some kind of cable in it. I dont know where the speedo cable is on an XJ or what it looks like.
On other vehicles I have owned the speedo cable is in some kind of spiral looking casing, I dont see anything like that here.

Thanks.
