Default Water Pump Pulley

Hello Everyone,

I need a few tips on how to get the water pump pulley off the pump? I haven't loosened the belt but it slips and just rotates around with the belt on. Its leaking out the weep hole and I know I need to replace it. The belt is new as well I just put on too much belt dressing after I installed the new belt a few weeks back. Any tips on how to get it off would be helpful. I already tried tightening the belt somewhat. I also tried to find a leverage point with a pry bar. I just squirted some pb blaster on them.

the pully should bolt on where the fan bolts to it, just remove the 4 bolts and it should come right off

My problem is getting the last pulley bolt off. I can't seem to get one off without leaving one on. I need to get the pulley off so I can get to the other bolts that are holding the pump onto the block.

take them off while the belt is still on the engine, that way it is under load. loosen them all first and then unbolt them all.

Just replaced the pump on mine. +1 on what he said.

Once you have all the bolts off, the PB should help too.

I threaded one bolt back on and used it as a point with my breaker bar. I got it loose then I hit the pulley a few times with a rubber mallet and it came off. I just pulled it off. It doesn't jiggle up or down but I know why it was weeping. There wasn't a gasket just a little rtv, wtf.

Now that I got the pump off, I'm working on taking the top pipe piece off. I just wish i had a bench with a vise on it. It would make it easier.

Heh so there is no way the metal water inlet tube from the water pump was coming out. In my despair I looked it up at advance and saw they were open today till 8. I also found out they had the 5/8 to 3/8 npt adapter and a 6 ft segment of heater hose. So I ran to the store bought the longest piece which was 2 3/4" long and the hose with the 90 bend wire kit to prevent kinks. I hoped to get this done today in like 2 hrs. It ended up being a 1-8pm job and I just move the power steering pump so I can line up the water pump, while using the gasket. I won't finish tonight if you value sleep. I hope to get the pump on at least tonight. I'll probably call it a night and kiss ***** to the gf to take me into work and pick me up.
