Default Washer fluid leaks out of rear sprayer on hills.

Ok, newbie here at the site and starting off with may be a stupid question. I've got a 94 Cherokee 2wd and when i park on a hill with the front end up, washer fluid leaks out of the rear sprayer. Just drips on to the tailgate and to the ground. Not terribly dangerous but annoying as I forget it does that sometimes and park at a friends house with a steep driveway, come back and half my fluid is gone. anyone else seen this? Defective pump for the rear washer probably?

Sounds like a worn pump. Not necessarily defective.
As I see it, there are 2 ways to fix this problem:

1. Install a new pump for the rear washer.
-OR-
2. Don't park on hills.

If you are on a tight budget...I recommend #2

Of all the fluids my XJ has leaked, I must say...Ive never heard of a leak like this.

The only stupid question is the one not asked.

Putting something in the hole (hehehe) such as a little bit of putty or something may fix this too if you're on a budget.

hey tom
I'm new to Cherokee's too. but what i noticed when i took off my rear hatch door panel there was what looked like an in-line check valve that would stop the water from leaking out. my guess thats the problem or a cracked line at the wiper.

Be careful pulling off that panel, those ratchet screws are brittle. All of mine broke, I'm now using some more heavy duty screws drilled through the old plastic mounts to hold my back panel in place. It doesn't come loose any more
