It all started when I discovered my ABS wasn't working after a panic stop to avoid a deer. Up to that point I never had a hard braking situation. Anyway, I discovered the ABS light was burned out, and the relay was bad, and the rt rear sensor was toast. Fixed all that and I had ABS again. I did some testing and braking was definetly improved, but not great. I've inspected the front and rear brakes, the rings, the sensors and everything looks really clean and all gaps are per spec. The PO had replaced all the brakes including calipers, rotors, shoes and drums, but there was no mention of the ABS. Bottom line is I believe this is pretty much the worst ABS system I've ever experienced and I'm seriously concidering $#!+ caning it, and while I'm at it installing a 8.25 I just found today. I believe eliminating the so so ABS with the correct components can't be any worse.
