The pdf just isn't as updated as CF's is.

I maintain CF's, but someone else must make changes/updates/additions to the pdf.

This is another question to go along with the thread, I pulled a valve cover off at the P&P near me so that I could see what went into the removal the bought it to paint it and clean it up so when I swapped the gasket I could just put a new clean cover on. The one I pulled does not have those pieces in but there is a baffle tacked into the inside instead. Does it matter which one I use ? Keep in mind mine is a 95 and I didn't bother to find the year on the other it was more of an exploration and turned into a parts purchase.

On the steel one I have, there are no flutes at all. It is welded into valve cover in a manner that resembles an aluminum carport cover. There are gaps around it to allow air to pass through to the top as well as if you pour oil into the filler hole it will push the oil to the sides of the valve cover. I guess my question is now if I take the one off of my 95 and it has the flutes can I swap it with no issues since there are no flutes on this one nor does it appear that they ever were. I can get the picture tomorrow, if I didn't describe it well enough.

valve cover gasket-img_0594-1-.jpg

valve cover gasket-img_0593-1-.jpgHere are the pictures, sorry for the less than average description. There is a round hole in this "baffle" where a flute would be according to the pic Cruiser shared.

Default valve cover gasket

I looked at them best I could. could you take one with the whole inside of the valve cover pictured? it's hard to tell what's the deal. it looks like they aren't even open.

I would be able to later, if you look at the first picture that round indentation is where the flute would be on cruisers pic and then look to the bottom left of the picture and you can see that little tab that is welded into side of the valve cover. From there you can see the gap between the side of the cover and edge of this baffle and the baffle runs like that through the entire interior of the valve cover in the same exact manner. There are no flutes in this one, it is almost as if this baffle was a later idea to get rid of the flutes because of the modification that cruiser suggests. The oil would splash up on the side of the baffle that I took a picture of but on the top side of this is where the hoses would connect but no oil can get directly to the grommet that holds the hoses. Which you cannot see unless you are looking at the top of the cover.

Steel valve cover is fine. Needs no mods. Nor does it need orange RTV..............
