If you torque the rockers to 19 ft/lbs the lifters will self adjust the valves. At least that is what I have done when re-installing the head after a blown gasket. Had to look up the torque specs but the FSM says 19 ft/lbs so that is it. Alternate between valves. I started in the middle of the head and worked my way out from there. I also turned the motor over to a place which took the pressure from the cam lobe off of the valve I was torqueing down.
