Vacuum lines diagram
Hey guys, I'm new here, and got a 1996 XJ RHD w/ AW4!
I think I'm having problems with the vacuum lines lately.. i need the vacuum line.
Whenever I floor the throttle, the blow from the front vents vanishes, I can hear the blower motor working, but there is no air coming out from the front vents. Cruise control, I dont know if mine has one or not, how do I check? Is there any separate button for the that? What is there on the dashboard that would indicate if it has it or not?
It never starts on the first crank, then sometimes likes to drive itself.. revs upto 3k RPM (sometimes).
So I need the vacuum lines diagrams for my Cherokee, if anyone is generous enough please post them here
And oh, can I use pipes made of rubber to replace the old vacuum lines?

Here's a good site you might wanna bookmark,
I think you'll find your vacc diag's in here.
No links to FSM's on line.

That is the evap. canister which is part of the evaporative emissions system. That might be how it is supposed to be but I'm not sure. If I were you, I'd pick up a Haynes manual or something like it. They are really handy for everything from vacuum diagrams to torque specs.

One line goes to the fuel tank vent/rollover valve, one goes to the canister solenoid valve (to its left in pic), and the other is the canister vent valve.

hmm
Is the Haynes / chilton manual better or the FSM?
Blue: So it is connected fine, and vent valve should be as it is, right?
I will post the pics shortly.
and there is no diagram under the hood, they have been torn off by the GDPO for some reason, I can't think of.

In order of accuracy/preference: 1- FSM, 2- Haynes, 3- Chiltons. I think the EVAP canister is fine except that it has in most cases either a foam filter, or a line w/a remote filter mounted to the open vent fitting to keep out debris and water.

Hey man i had the same problem until it only came out the defrost vents. I check my lines and decided to just change the lines. also checked for the resivor and low and behold it was gone. So i went to the nearest dealership and it cost me about $40 for the resivor and the complete vacum system lines. little bit of a price but well worth it i think. there's my .02 cents

Okay, i'll try changing the vacuum reservoir, I'll have to look where it is exactly first!
And also, Cherokees are RARE in Pakistan, parts aren't available. So I'll have to be creative if I need a new reservoir, any ideas?
