Default Radiator question

I知 looking to get a new radiator for my 2.5, and for some reason, i知 seeing two different types of radiators. One looks like mine, small and almost square. Another looks very long, and a lot shorter. It looks almost like the 4.0 radiator in my opinion.

Would that longer radiator work? It doesn稚 seem like it would fit, but considering how every site I look at has the longer one as a direct fit for the 2.5, and the shorter and more square one as a direct fit also

The longer radiator supports 2 fans, one engine driven, 1 electric (like in the 4.0). The radiator supports and hoses are likely different. I'll guess you could get the long one to fit, but you'd need a bunch of other parts.

Yeah, it痴 the 4.0 radiator. Worldpac only lists that as the radiator for my 2.5, and 1-800 radiator has my smaller square one for 230 bucks : (

Advance can稚 even get the right one, and same story with O池ilies and auto-zone, and Napa.

Im also not changing the hood latches and the support bracket and the condenser to make the 4.0 radiator fit.

I don't trust the pics. Look at the dimensions in the description.

Do you have a radiator repair shop nearby?

Your Google-Fu is weak, grasshopper

Helps to type in exactly what you're searching for. I'm willing to bet that a phone call to any of those places, with a clarification of what motor you have, would have yielded results as well.

It's not going to be cheap either, nothing is these days, but more so as your configuration was not as common as the 4.0.

You can do one of two things, pay for the right one, or get a 4.0 and make it work, but if you go route 2, you're gonna need to go all electric fans, custom shroud, etc....which ends up not working as well and costing more while taking longer.

I ended up finding one at Autozone. They said it will take 4 days for them to get it, and it's pretty cheap for what it is. O'ryiles near me couldn't get one for weeks since it was on backorder, and Advance could get one, but it was 300 for it. 1-800 Radiator does have one, but the sales guy couldn't get a picture of it to have it shipped to his warehouse, so it could've been the 4.0 radiator for all I knew.

What sucks is that the 4.0 radiator is easier to get, and in most cases, actually cheaper than mine, despite the size difference.

But, nonetheless, calling places actually does do you some good. I was just lazy in my case for a bit. But, I found one. And I hope it fits right
