Default Oil Pressure increase with new oil/filter!!!

Ok,
Changed my oil last month to Castrol 10W-30, and put in a NAPA GOLD oil filter. Oil pressure under RPM is about 38-40 hot, and at hot idle is about 10psi. So today I drained the oil and put in Mobil 5000 10W-40 high millage with a K&N Hp-3001 filter ( this is the bigger filter). After driving for a while and getting the engine nice and hot, The oil pressure under steady driving was at 45-48, and at hot idle was at 18-20.

So was it the heavier oil or the bigger filter?

Should be the heavier oil, the larger filter should decrease the pressure but I may be wrong on that.

Filter change like that wouldn't cause much difference in pressure... I'd be concerned if you bought an OCOD and went from 30 PSI to 60 PSI

The difference in pressure you're seeing is just due to oil weight. Totally normal. Though really your hot idle on xW30 is pretty low. Min spec is 13 PSI

Or you coulda whacked the oil sender while removing the oil filter.......
