Did you try switching the hazzard flasher with the turn signal flasher?

The flasher is the two sliver cylinders that on the fuse box, just take both out and swap them, if the turn signals work and the hazzards dont after the swap then you need a new flasher

the turn signal lever comes out by pushing it straight in and rotating it. then pull straight out away from column.

then you can get to the turn signal switch assembly.

before doing this, have you changed out the turn signal relay located in the fuse panel?

Hi Guys,
I have the same problem with my xj 1993. My Hazards work and I can hear the hazard relay clicking when they are on, this seems to be located under the dash tho, not on the fuse board (which is by the clutch pedal). I have been told the Hazard and turn signal relay are one and the same is that right? If so I assume it must be the turn signal assembly but HOW do you 'remove the colum cover and steering wheel' ??? Nothing seems to want to budge !!!!

look up xj turn signal relay on youtube....if you hear the clicking under dash I would assume that year has the relay but may be wrong...mine has turn signal and hazards as same relay and replacing the relay fixed my turn signals....

Default Even more confused now

Hi again,
Had a look on You Tube and whilst interesting I dont seem to have the same set up as thiers perhaps this is because my Jeep xj 1993 was assembled in Europe !!??!!
However went out again this morning determined to find out what is up however I am now more confused. I took a couple of pictures but I dont know how to insert them here so I will try to explain in the hope that someone might be able to help!!!
Attached to the inside of the dash is plastic box with numerous wires leading to it, also plugged in are a number of little black boxes a big red box and a blue medium size box. When I turn the hazard warning lights on one of the little black boxes vibrates and makes a loud clicking noise, ah hah I thought this must be the hazard warning light relay so I took it out ..... the loud clicking noise was replaced by a faint clicking noise which seems to be coming from the 'door open or key in Ignition' sounder which is on the fuse board.....and the Hazards continue to flash !!!!!!!???!!! ummm

Has anybody got any ideas about what I should do next ?
Yours living in hope
