Default turn signal trouble??

Hi everybody having a weird problem hoping somebody else has come across the same issue??, Anyway I picked up a 99 cher. sport with a bad engie, I replaced that and run`s great but now my problem is the turn sinal they all work including the hazard lights.. The problem is when you use the left turn signal the right(pass) side rear (not the right front)also goes on?? it blinks the same time as the left side , the front left also works as it should it is just the right rear that is operating when you use the left turn signal?? .I removed every bulb and checked or replaced them as needed, can not seem to figure this out?? I was leaning towards a bad ground somewhere?? Any suggestions, advice would be great like to drive it around but I think I am confusing the people behind me which would explain the horn blowing and the attitude lol!!!Thanks Bill

Check for corrosion in the bulb sockets too. Just did a 4.0 F.I. swap in a th last week. Signals were doing the same thing. Turned out to be corrosion in one of the taillight sockets. Or something is grounding out that isn't supposed to. Put your signal on and pull one bulb at a.time to see if you can locate the issue to a certain area

Something handy for goofy grounds, an old vacuum cleaner cord. Clamp one end right on the battery negative, and touch the other to a suspicious ground. (like the bulb socket). That can make it pretty clear, pretty fast where there is a ground issue. Both of my Jeeps have had problems with the wire to ground off the tail-light bulb socket.

Default turn signal trouble

Thanks for the reply`s .. I think I traced it back to the steering column.. I had my son turn on the left signal and it worked as did the right rear blinker also on same as before he then "jiggled the turn signal lever itself and it shut off the right side turn signal however the left stayed on the way it should?? I am guessing it could be that plastic piece that the lever is attached to could have dirt in it?? or cracked somewhere ?? It does not seem to be loose but we can make it work and shut off by moving turn lever ?? I guess I will have to pull wheel and see if anything is going on?? I did check every socket and bulb at least three times so I am pretty sure they are all in good shape no sign of corrosion or any frayed / broken wires..I think that piece is called the clockspring? Any thoughts?? Thanks Bill

The multifunction switch is probably in need of replacement.
