Relay should be located under dash on the passenger side by the door opening ( basing this off my 00 ). The other thing is if your 4-ways work, do they start kinda funny and the switch stiff? Because that might be the actual turn signal assembly in your steering column... I have replace 3 of them in my different jeeps that i have owned. Best of luck.

Theres a harness under the air filter box that gets corroded.Pull it apart and clean it with electrical cleaner then put die-electric grease in it and put back together. It worked on my 96 and has been good for almost 2 years now.

hey SWC Custom.....is it just the turn signals - left and right? does it do it intermittently or every time? how about headlight/high beam? does the high beam cut out the headlights intermittently? you can take the turn signal switch stalk off of the column (needs a torx bit) and look at the connectors inside the plastic connector - may be shorting because the plastic housing craps away and causes terminals to short out, intermittently, until it gets toasted under load! ...new switch is ~$60....you may be able to jumper the short temporarily and get it to function, but it's worth getting a new switch cause another connection/terminal can get fried later!!....good luck!

yes its the left and right ones. it dose it every time (doesn't flash).. the headlights are fine. i cant get it off the steering column because i don't have a set of safety torx which mine requires. but i cant find the flasher at all.. any body know where it would be iv torn my dash apart like 4 times trying to find it. n thanks for all the help guys but i'm still not getting any further..

if your four-way works....then it is the switch!...the flasher relay is under driver side dash with fuses...there is also a relay/fuse bank under hood on passenger side fender, tucked between coolant overflow and windshield washer fluid container....the wiring for the directional and hazards are the same in the engine compartment (light green = left, tan = right) all the way to the switch stalk....hope the attached helps out...

got it fixed every one!! thanks for all the help.. i had to change the fuse under the hood it was half blown then i blew it while checking stuff and i noticed that even my 4 ways weren't working so i jumped under the hood n looked n sure enough it was split right in half so i had dad pick me up a n new one with a set of new bits with tamper proof torx in them!! n now i'm all set after ripping the dash apart 6 times!! nothing like getting to know your jeep!! inside and out like tearing it apart and putting it together again!!
