Courtesy Light Problem
I have an '89 XJ limited and the courtesy lights in the footwells don't work and my dad previously took out the courtesy dome lights because they wouldn't turn off. The map lights still work and the fuse is new for the courtesy lights but I don't want to start spending money on stuff that isn't causing my problem. Help??

I did. Are the ones in the footwell supposed to be a dark tint? When i checked them I shook them a little to see if they were blown (listening for bits and pieces of the wiring inside the glass) and I heard nothing.

Ok. But what about the dome lights (that should go off after about 3 minutes when the car is off and doors are shut) not turning off?

The courtesy lights should be controlled by buttons. They shouldn't turn on or off with the doors. Your dome light should and if its staying on, your switch is probably on

Like the headlight ****? Because there is no button for the dome light other than the buttons for the map lights

Seriously? That's why it clicks? But they won't automatically turn off if I forget to turn the **** back right?

No. You have to turn them off. If you leave the switch turned, it will drain your battery. I have a 6 year old that plays in my jeep so I've had a dead battery from that more than once
