14mm socket to remove drain bolt. I coulda changed 16 of them in the time I've spent on this thread!!!!

No, and no. Lots of other things could be at work, some of which are free or very cheap, and all of which are much cheaper and easier than a trans replacement.

But.... since you are a very special snowflake, you probably won't stick around and find out what those things are....
