if its the line right in front of the harmonic balancer below the radiator... depends on where... if its close to the crimp of the hose.... just cut as close to the crimp as u can and then take the rubber hose and fit it onto the steel line then take 1 or 2 tube clamp and tighten her down

Where? i replaced one of mine and neither one would cost me more then $35 bucks, and thats the whole line. and compression fittings work a whole lot better then the hose method. i seen one repaired w/ the hose and clamps that leaked a puddle every time it was ran. and both ends of the line were flared where the hose was slipped over them

Ive repaired tranny line with the hose method before. Make sure you use fuel injection hose clamps and double them up.the fuel injection hose clamps wont cut through the hose like the normal camps will and have better holding power. they look better too and are made better.
It may start to leak after a while like mine. I now do the compression fittings. Works great and doesnt develope any leaks.

Ok so then i will just have to clamp it and hope it holds for a while. But, i have seen that a new line at auto zone will run about $50-$80 so i will definately have to pick one of those up here pretty soon

Mine got a hole in it on the rubber part of the line. I cut the bad part out and stuck a small hose connector in there and used two small hose clamps. I know this is not the best idea but it works for now. Also I don't think either line should run you more than 40$ look further online for a better deal.

My '89 Cherokee ATF cooling hose started leaking big time, leaving an ATF puddle in the driveway. The old rubber tube broke right at the end of the crimp (down by the crankshaft pulley). I took a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel and cut longitudinally down the crimp on both sides of the hose, but NOT the back of the crimp. I then pried open the crimp like the jaws of an alligator and pulled off the old hose. I cleaned up the end of the hard line and put some RTV gasket seal on it. I then stuck the new hose onto the end of the hard line, squeezed the crimp back down and clamped it tight with a hose clamp. Almost as good as orignal. I also did this to the other (radiator) end with the quick release on it.
