See the bracket near the TC vent valve. That's attached to the right side of the bellhousing. Look behind the tranny dipstick tube and you'll see it. Don't attempt to remove the bracket from the bellhousing, just cut the plastic retainer and move the hose/vent valve forward so you can work on it. Use pliers to remove the clamp holding the vent valve in the hose and remove the vent valve. Insert a brass 5/16" x 5/16" hose barb coupler (Lowes) in the TC hose and a new section of 5/16" hose on the barb. Run the new hose up to the location in the first photo in post #68. You'll need a front axle upper vent (like in the photo) to take the place of the OEM TC vent valve. The front axle upper vent is Mopar part number J5352955. Check with your Chrysler dealer or get one from the bone yard. With the vent available, cut the new hose to length, insert the new vent, and secure to the wire harness with a cable tie.

did the original aw4 vent look the same as the TC vent in post #68 second photo?
After reading your post, I'm thinking I may have rerouted the TC vent. It looked identical to the second photo in post 68, but without the bracket, it was just hanging out by the bell housing.

This is what I asked about earlier: "First, was the vent fitting you relocated the AW4 vent and not the TC vent shown in post #68?" The reason I asked this is the TC vent valve is a POS and clogs up easily.
You can reuse the original TC vent valve if you like but make sure it's very clean inside and that you can (using mouth pressure) alternately blow and suck the valve open and closed. You should hear a positive click when the valve reaches its limit. My TC vent valve was so dicked up it wouldn't positively seat at its stops. The TC vent valve and hose in photo 2 is from a TC I bought to replace the one I had in my Jeep. The TC vent valve in photo 3 is from my original TC. I cleaned up both valves and tried the blow/suck ops check. The one from the replacement TC worked but my original didn't. I figured I'll toss both of these POS valves in my parts drawer and replace it with a vent I know will work (the front axle vent).
I still can't figure out the design function of the TC vent valve.
If you did, in fact, cleaned and relocated the TC vent valve and it stopped the ATF leak, I'd say off hand that it was the TC leaking, not the AW4.

i tried to follow your directions CCKen, but for the life of me i can't seem to find the AW4 vent. the TC vent wasn't difficult to spot and looked exactly like the picture you posted, but i can't seem to find the AW4 anywhere.

The TC hose will also be there so don't get confused.

Having a similar issue, found the vent just dangling. Would like to relocate like photo #68.
Would the vent being to high cause any issues?

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the AW4 fluid filter? It sounds like the fluid before the change was pretty bad so its certainly possible that it is partially clogged. If fluid can't make it past the filter it'll go up and out.

I did the cooler to mine, Just go into the return line that is the line running to the very back of tranny. Leave it connected to the Rad.
