What are you having difficulty with, moving the shifter, or it coming out after you've moved the shifter to 2 high position? I'm going to change your title so that it says transfer case, and not box, that may be confusing to some.

sorry im in the uk and we call it box i can move the shifter no problem but it wont go back into 2wd just stays in part time 4x4 but it can be tricky getting fulltime 4x4 sometimes, 4x4l is never a problem but agian a nightmare to get 2wd i dont use 4x4 that often but i make a point of driving with it every week or so to keep things moving i was thinking there mightt be adjustment on the shifter

OK, try this. When you have finished wheeling, put the lever in two high, and then back up about ten feet. Sometimes I'll have to kinda stab on the throttle when backing up, but when I release it, it will pop out of 4 high. Make sense??

Mine started out that way, then got better over time. If it wasn't used much by the PO, then it can be sticky. It's not bad for it to do that, FYI. It is normal to have to back up a little sometimes. HTH!!

Another thing that works is to just take your foot off the accelerator while pushing on the lever. That will take the torque off the drive train and allow it to shift.
