trans swap
ok, so im buying my cousins 89 xj auto, and the trans just fryed today so, im wondering if the trans i got sitting around from a 91 xj auto will work with the 89 jeep? thx guys

The trans will work. However you'll need to check the output shaft spline count, some say 91 was the changover year.. i'm not sure when it was honestly. You need a 21 spline to use the transfer from the 89. Or you could swap in a 23 spline input gear into the transfercase.
