I had the same issue, I cut the bolt off with a sawzall and moved on. Otherwise like others have said, tack weld the nut in place.

Default Sorry I didn't post any pics

I cut down the middle and it loosened the bolt so I could pry the top and wrench it off. The bolt was still reusable and I put a nut in place of the boss for the new bracket.

Surprisingly enough it only took 1 1/2 cutting wheels. with a rotary tool

Cool. When I discovered those after 40 years of wrenching I bought a 50 pack of wheels off ebay! Rock on!
