Default Tire Size and Gearing Question?

Hey, guys. Been away for awhile, looks like everyone is doing great and the board is getting larger.

I have asked a few local guys and got a lot of different answers so I figured I would ask the XJ guru's and see what you guys say.

I got a set of 33" Pro Comp Xterrians I am gonna slap under the 89 along with a DANA 44 soon as I can get it rebuilt along with the D30. I do drive this some on the street, but not alot and for no great distances. I would really love to keep the ump my Jeep has with the 31's. What gears would you guys recommend? I am thinking 4.10 or 4.56.

Also while swapping out the D35 for the D44 I have all the correct mounting hardware, but am curious about the driveshaft. The donor jeep my 44 is coming from was a 87 with a 231 and D44 combo. My 89 currrently is a 242 and a D35 w/ tracloc. I know the 242 has a longer tail shaft if I am not mistaken and the D44 has a longer nose. With the 4.5" lift on the 89 am I gonna be able to strait swap the axle and reuse the 89's? Thinking that any length that is greater on the D44 may just push the slip back inside the transfer case from where is was lifted.

I would go with the 4.56
iv got 4.10 and 31" and wish they were 4.56

I don't think the 242 is longer that the 231
but the d44 I think is a little longer than the 35
you should not do ant DS measurements tell you have the TC and rear end mounted
