Tire pressure
So I did a search on this and also googled it but still can't seem to find the answer.
I have a 98 XJ with a 2" lift. Just got new shoes (goodyear territories 235/75/R15). It says max 50psi on the sidewall. But being a slightly larger than stock tire what should I put them at? And should it be a little diff from front to back? oh, when I had them installed they gave me 30psi?!?!? I thought they looked like they NEEDED air so I checked them and that what it was, so now it's up to 45psi front and back.
Thanks in advance, and it's a DD so no off road

There is no rule really, 35-40 is where we would set tires with a max of 50psi. Or if you want it perfect take the weight of your jeep divide by 4, see what percentage it is compared to the tire weight rating, subtract that percentage from max tire pressure. Or be easy go 40psi.

Hey, I have 230K on it and I've had it for 10 yrs. Thing still runs like a champ! oil change every 4K. This is only my 3rd set of rubber but I want to make sure I don't under or over inflate the tires. It would suck to have them wear prematurely.

50psi would be for a full sized pickup with a full load hauling a heavy trailer.
for your light jeep, i would agree 30psi would be about perfect for that size tire. lower for more traction if driven in slippery winter conditions.

That is not the best idea, mind you climate, tire size, driving conditions, altitude, and many other factors take place. Find someone in your area who has the same size and tires, ask.(Ie. local jeep club)

Guys in jeep clubs are usually good guys, I am part of NJJC, everyone helps everyone, I also have a house in montana, I was wheeling, went to a gas station and some guys approached me, started talking, they were from M4X4 and invited me out on a trail ride within ten min. Just a few examples.

I'm gonna go with 35psi... door jam says 33. they just looked a little saggy to me when it was 30psi. But with 45 my ride kinda sucked.
Learned something new.
thanks all for the input.

You never know the guy with the van could know more than you could ever imagine! That's called judging a book by its cover!
