Just a note to thank the folks here for the info on the antenna coax connector in the passenger side kick panel. I have mine partly un-screwed. The middle screw head is stripped, but I have it loose enough to see that the connector has become apart. Gotta drill the head off of that screw in the center, to get the panel all the way off yet...

The designer of that connector arrangement needs to be strung up....

The radio would pick up only one station, a local PBS station. ...

Not exactly an award winning design, is it. I put a small hose clamp around mine, found the problem when I ripped the carpet and trim out to replace the floor pans.

Thread-jacking in spades. Chuck, tomorrow I go to look at (to buy), a 90 with the Bendix anti lock. Messed up, doesn't work right. U know anything about those?

Yeah, they use a high pressure pump (over near the passenger's side fender) and storage accumulators (near the master cyl) that serve to operate the ABS and provide power brake assist. There's no vacuum booster. When that pump goes the pedal can get extremely hard to operate.
Chrysler still has the major parts, or did a few years ago- some parts like the pump are still under a lifetime warranty. That's what typically fails.

IMHO the best option is to remove the master cylinder, pump and accumulators and replace with a 96+ non ABS master cyl/booster and distribution block. You'l have to do some custom line work as the old ones won't reach.
Pump the brakes (engine off) 50 or more times before opening the system up to relieve the pressure in the accumulators. There's over a thousand PSI in there when the system is operating.

Did you have one? Did you change it? Seller says he spent $1.500 0n some new thing that didn't fix it.

I've had a 99 and 96, my son had an '89. I don't know much about troubleshooting it when it doesn't work. He put in a '96 master cyl/booster rather than fiddle with it. What's wrong with the one you are looking at? Does it stop?

God I get so angry when my text vanishes. (twice this thread). While you were still here, I wrote, I'll find out tomorrow when I see it. I sure hope it stops! It's 45 minutes from here, and "here" is 300 miles south of home.

Thursday before last, doing about 45 here on River Road, Mrs. Hammer rear ended me so hard it bent my seat back. Bent the receiver down, (and the frame). DARN! only 280K on my 90, burns no oil....waz planning to post one of those nutty high mileage figures! Yep, Amber Jean Hammer.

Doesn't look bad Don.... at worst some brake work?
If he changed the 'module', that's bolted to the floor under the back seat.
I don't know if WJ master cyl is the same.

eta: yeowtch! Just saw you crunched the '90. Just keep the brake parts off of that!

10-4 Actually Miss Hammer crunched it, and I had a bud driving due to beer. Her Volvo is totaled I think.

Yea, my guess is that is what's in there, new with a lifetime warrante. (scrappers are offering him $700, probably cuz of that).
