Default take windows out

im cutting the rear doors at the level of where the windows drop in to the doors.
I pulled the door panels off and didnt see any "easy" ways to get the window out.
all i see are studs or something like that. Do have to drill them out to get the window actuators to slide out?

Is there a write up on how to do this? or do i need to take the barbaric way and start drilling and grinding the window out? hehe

Are you refering to the rivets holding the regulator? If so yes, drill or grind off and punch through to remove.

Mine had a couple bolts that held the window to the regulator. I didn't have to do any sort of drilling. I have a 98, however.

If you pull the door panels off, then pull back that plastic film, you'll see where the window is attached to the regulator. Once it was unbolted, it came out pretty easily through the slit that it goes up and down in. Not sure if the older XJ's are the same way though.

older xjs should be the same way. just two bolts holding the window to the regulator and maybe some glue
