Default What is input shaft free play specs? 98 stick

I just removed stick transmission and it seems like input shaft has too much free play side to side.

Some play is normal. Primarily because the shaft relies on the pilot bearing to hold the other end in place.

At the very least, pull the bearing retainer plate and inspect the bearing for wear.
