Default stock Cherokee tire sizes

First, can 15x31x10.50's be put on a 2001 Cherokee Sport without lifting it?
Second, do I need 10inch rims for 31x10.50's.

31/10.5/15 is what it said right? means 31 in tall. 10.5 wide, on 15 in rim. and you may rub om turning

Those are the same specs as my tires I believe. I have a 3" lift and still rub a little if I turn hard.

I have 30x9.5x15's and they rub on a 3" lift. 31x10.5 is too big for stock height

that is weird....while mine were at stock high they didnt rubb at all.. and I had that...

to the OP, you can run 31" on stock rims... but its suggested to get 8" wide rims.. (your stock ones are 7") , also if you dont want to modify much the xj, you can run 30" x 9.5 x 15.. is closer to stock size... it might rub a lil, thats why I suggest to lift a lil,, it will look better and if you dont lift too much, you wont affect your MPG

Looks like it's time for a Budget Boost....and the start of the sickness. Once it comes it's better to let it take over, resistance is futile....you will be assemilated!! There is no real cure, you just have to deal with it. The only therapy is to go wheeling!!

My '98 got one set of 31's under it w/o a lift and it shredded the **** out of those tires, especiall when I hit a bump or loaded the back or roof up (rear springs were saggy). It all good now. Well, after going up about 3".
