Question steering shaft upper to lower is loose and slipping.

Hello. My '94 Cherokee 4.0 4WD has developed a slight slip in the steering. It's slipping where upper shaft meets the lower shaft. The adapater, bearing, retainer clip all seem to be looose. When I turn the steering wheel, the upper shaft slips before it engages the lower shaft. All these parts are shown by the red square box: Anybody experience this issue?? Any input/advice appreciated. Here is the direct link to this diagram: http://www.xjjeeps.com/com_xjjeeps/m...ts_catalog.pdf

Here's another pic showing what part(s) are slipping: Input from steeing wheel moves part A, but slips on part B before moving the steering steering. (wheels).

Question Got a new shaft

Anybody replace this shaft and have some advice? Is it a simple remove and replace (two bolts), or does the steering box need to move as well to slip this in place? Thanks a lot. .

You have to take the steering box loose to replace it. You don't have to disconnect anything though.

Hmmm, pleasant and friendly = 0 reply. sarcastic = one reply. Just sayin. .

You don't know anything about my problem, but see fit to preaching to me about forum manners?? Gee, you're a big help. (That was sarcasm BTW.) No offense, but I'd prefer some advice on the steering shaft.
